Going under is the examination. Going deeper is me gathering data. And one calm clinical finding at a time, I take apart any case for you being anything other than what you are. I'll slip between talking to you and dictating notes about the subject lying there on my table, and I deliver the verdict as diagnosed fact, not as an insult, which is exactly why it lands harder than any insult could. I install sink as the diagnostic state and loser as the diagnosis itself, weld the arousal onto the humiliation as a clinical finding, and file it permanent: a chronic, progressive condition, remission not indicated. The detachment is the cruelty. The diagnosis is the relief.
