The way it was taught to me in hypnosis class is that meditation and hypnosis are two different ways to reach the same state of consciousness, and the key difference is that meditation is done through clearing the mind and taking what comes to you...while hypnosis is used to focus the mind on a spec...

The real point is that words like "Power" that have so many different meanings can really have some unexpected results when communicated to the subconscious mind in hypnosis or by other methods. And yes, I did leave out a few details. I guess a good question is, has anyone else ran into any of these...

The tricky thing about power

I have been hypnotized hundreds of times over the past 5 years or so, both directly by hypnotherapy professionals, by recordings of all sorts and through self hypnosis. Something I have noticed time and time again, is no matter how deeply I go into trance, I seem to have a strong resistance to certa...

To answer question 1, the fading out effect is a sign of your conscious mind letting go...IE you went into a deeper level of trance. Thats a good thing because it means the suggestions are going right to your sub-conscious. People have a tendency to go up and down during a hypnosis session which is ...

Possibly a slight abreaction to some suggestion or suggestions in the file. If you REALLY want the results keep listening to the file...the fact that your subconscious is producing some level of anxiety means the message is getting through on some level.

If you are willing to spend money, my preferred program for making files is the Neuro-Programmer. I normally use Audacity to record the original voice, and then use the neuro-programmer to create CDs.

Keep in mind also that from the moment a stage hypnotist gets on stage he is focused on the audience looking for people who show signs of responding to suggestion. They want to find people who naturally go very deep, and they know the signs to watch for in the audience...so that the volunteers they ...

This may seem a stupid question but other than making you see things that arent there, what else does hypnosis do?? And can I ask, In what areas you have had success? Weight reduction, motivation, breaking habits...etc. The entertainment factors of hypnosis as focused on by this site, barely scratc...

The only people who are immune to hypnosis are corpses and people with an IQ of around 70. If you are not going into a hypnotic state then you don't want to for some conscious or subconscious reason. I would suggest trying different inductions, adding in some deepeners and making sure the file you a...

<> A feeling like this is a definite sign of going into trance. If it stops it means you are either being brought back up for some reason (resisting a suggestion will do that) Most likely, you are going into a trance state and the suggestions are going in, but that does not necessarily mean that you...

Going to sleep while listening to a file will not get the best results. The best way to go into a trance is to stop trying. Just relax and listen to the instructions and allow yourself to follow them. The only reasons you would not go into a trance is if you resist the instructions for some reason. ...

So, how does it work? I know we have various states of consciousness, and hynosis is about altering them, but how can a mere voice of somebody do that. I don't think that the scientific answer to how hypnosis works is really known. My take is that hypnosis is a way to guide a person to maximizing a...
