Litmus test for being in trance?

Postby Fluid » February 7th, 2006, 2:56 pm

This may have been asked before, but is there any solid indicator to test wether you're really in trance or just lazing about, occasionally listening? I've been at a variety of depths so far down to the edge of sleep, but still I've no idea how I should feel while in trance. Kinda important when you have to be tranced for this sort of thing to work.

You just feel light, relaxed, and other things. it's hard to explain because the feeling is different for everyone. like how i feel like i float about a foot into the air, the slowly rock back and forth. You just have to figure out when you feel the most relaxed.

That's the thing.

It's a completely subjective experience.
Even scientists who've noted that Hypnosis definitly cause changes changes in the brain as verified by imaging hardware... can't determine a physiological litmus test for when someone is in a trance or isn't.

It's like trying to figure out if someone is truly in love.

It can't really be done... but YOU can help the situation by affirming the situation.

By that I mean....

Choose to go into trance deeply.
Choose to go deeper than you've ever gone before.
Choose to allow yourself to surrender... completely and utterly
Because you desire to, and sometimes desires can take control all by themselves, can't they? Until you find yourself falling deeper and deeper with no say in the matter at all..... don't you?

It is different for everyone, but the following link has some symptoms, so to speak, that are common.
