it is going to take practice, i used to be the same way and still am sometimes, but, now and then, i listen to blink's basic induction and let my mind paint me some pictures of the story he is telling, and this helps me to relax enough for trance, plus it helps with insomnia. myself, i would recommend listening to it atleast once every 2 weeks, but yourself, at this stage might do better using that file every night before going to sleep, and in a couple of weeks, try using a trance file again and see if it helps in letting your mind drift long enough to use a trance file.
or you could even try what i had experimented with once, a playlist, blink's basic induction at the beginning of the playlist, with a second file behind it, about half way through the induction, i could swear i had passed out and fell asleep but then, woke up when the second file got to 5 to wake ya up. maybe give that a go, besides, what ya got to lose?
