Let's say I transcribed someone's file to make the voice a different gender. I'd like to upload it but I can't contact the user and I'm not even sure if the user is still active. Is it okay to just upload it? Of course I would give credit to the original.

It happens semi-frequently, just say "This was originally ___'s file". I've borrowed without permission several other user's files, gave credit for them, and none of them have contacted me about it. If they have it on here for free, then it's wide open, legally. It's a shame we don't have a "date this user last visited this site" thing on the person's file.

Thanks. I'll probably do that and if he wants me to remove it I'll do that.
