Best Practices recording someone else's script

Hi!

There's a script on the site I'd really like to record-- there are a couple of text to speech versions that other people posted but they don't really get me there.

I messaged the creator, but they haven't been active on here for years and haven't visited the site for over a year.

What are the best practices around this? Is it OK to record someone else's script if I don't end up hearing back from them?

ideally you want permission, but if nobody responds and they didn't state otherwise in the script itself then go ahead and record it. If there are already other recorded versions then you should be fine.
