Hypnotism can't make you do things against your will. Simply put, it just reinforces your conscious desires into your subconscious mind (I think). If you listen to a file intended to make you scared of cats and you don't want to be scared of cats, it won't have any effects.
Besides, it's best to start working from simple files (everyone recommends TrigFreeze2), which are unlikely to have harmful effects on your psyche. There's nothing to be afraid of.

Many of them do work as writen, but the effects differ from person to person. If your worried about it, try something you want to happen as everything (yes, even the curses) are easily reversed
