I could only understand the second and fourth questions, so...

2. If it does, if I go out, would people see it?

Generally, no, the furry transformation doesn't cause any real physical changes. You will simply see yourself as whatever you're trying to be, as well as see everyone else. It's no different than imagining that there's, say, a ball rolling next to you.

4. It still works when I r sleeping, right?

Yup. As the file says, if you go to sleep morphed, you'll wake up morphed. It doesn't wear off just by sleeping. It can wear off over a period of time if you don't listen to it, of course. If you're worried, though, Train Sleep Reinforce can be useful.

Phonetic typing, a conversation:

M R DUCKS

M R NOT

M R 2 C M WINGS

L I B M R DUCKS

It does make things significantly easier on the reader if we spell out what we intend to say. (We've got misunderstandings aplenty already.) It unhelpful in this area of interest that some of the basic terms are fuzzily defined. It also causes some confusion when we add to the mix that not all of us here are firmly grounded in <Thomas Dolby>Science!</Thomas Dolby>.

When we get to the point of spelling and grammar flames, though, we've probably slipped entirely off the track. (It's also a bit painful that those of us who are squawking about spelling and grammar are having trouble spelling "spelling" and "grammar.")

To steer us back to the subject, lemme ask if anyone can find an online copy of the Davis-Husband scale of hypnotic depth. The scale lists the hypnotic phenomena most associated with various depths of trance. (It's not a rule, but it's a good guide.) For example, you generally need greater depth of trance to have negative hallucinations than to have positive ones, i.e., it's easier to make stuff appear than to make stuff disappear.

It might be helpful if, when making a "shopping list" of the things you want out of a furry file, everybody had a sense of the degree of difficulty involved. I've looked for this scale (and asked about it in the past), but I can't find an online version, and my Ormond McGill book that contains it is still on the other side of town.

"But if you don't know the territory, you'd better have a map." -- Blink

"The map is not the territory." -- R. Bandler" -- Blink

Hey! That's stolen from Alfred Korzybski.

One reference that I have seen for the Davis-Husband scale is:-
DAVIS, L. W., and HUSBAND, R. W. A
study of hypnotic susceptibility in relation to personality traits.
Abnorm Soc Psychol 20:175, 1931.

and I found the following list at:-
http://forum.hypnosis.com/showthread.php?p=2782#post2782
this is not the original source so I can't be sure that it is accurate

(you may have noticed that quoting Korzybski has affected my behaviour :-))

The Davis-Husband scale, for instance, is as follows:

0 - insusceptible
1 - Relaxation (hypnoidal response starts here)
2 - Fluttering eyelids
3 - Closing of eyes
4 - Complete physical relaxation
5 - Eye catalepsy
6 - Limb catalepsies (light trance starts here)
7 - Rigid catalepsies
8,9, 10 - "Glove" anesthesia
11, 12 - Partial posthypnotic amnesia
13, 14 - Posthypnotic amnesia (Medium trance starts here)
15, 16 - Personality changes
17, 18, 19 - Kinesthetic delusions
20 - Complete amnesia by suggestion
21, 22 - Ability to open eyes and remain in trance (Deep trance starts here)
23, 24 - Complete somnambulism
25 - Positive visual hallucination
26, 27 - Positive auditory hallucination, systematized posthypnotic amnesia
28 - Negative auditory hallucination
29 - Negative visual hallucination
30 - Hyperesthesia

There is a slightly different version in Mastering Hypnosis.pdf:-
http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=18&url=http%3A%2F%2Fvaghelasv.com%2FDocuments%2FMastering%2520Hypnosis.pdf&ei=v4PgRYaaIp_OgAKtwuHJAw&usg=__7N90xe0pb4l9giEd2o3Cv1zFjss=&sig2=q1DE2bguB7D_dh8UI9v9oQ
strange link but it seems to be a useful resource

Axiom

Very Interesting.

That's exactly as I remember it. Gold star to Axiom. (Not just an online source, but the journal cite as well.)

With this scale in mind, it might be easier for people who've been having no success at all to begin to see why. If you can't get what you're trying for, try for something easier first. I think this is especially relevant in this forum, neh?

Oh, and Bandler probably never claimed to have been the first to have said that sentence, but I'm sure he never corrected anyone who attributed it to him, either.
