phisical limits?

I would like to get into some of this transformation stuff, but I was wondering what happens to your real body when you transform. I mean, If you transform into a horse, will you walk normal in real life or will you crawl? then there is the problem that walking as a horse would be a lot faster then I could physically crawl. I am sorry that I am a noob to this :(
