Inspiration from fiction

Postby cloudstalker » June 10th, 2020, 10:04 am

Many erotic hypnotists have derived inspiration from fictional scenarios (many of the early hypnodom/mes got their early ideas from Erotic Mind Control Stories, which DOES have a lot of inspiration. I'm starting this thread to discuss fictional mind control scenarios that might be worked into hypnotic trances. I'm gong to start out with a few created by psychologist William Moulton Marston, which he used in his Wonder Woman series back in the 1940's.

The Magic Lasso: Long before writers started calling it "The Lasso of Truth", probably to keep the BDSM implications away, forcing someone to tell the truth was just a secondary part of this. If you were bound by the Magic Lasso, even loosely, and someone was holding the other end, you could not escape, and you were compelled to obey any command the holder gave you, including but by no means limited to answering questions truthfully, although a command to tell the truth might have been necessary; it was hard to tell from the text. A feature of this is that being compelled to obey the command did not include a desire to obey the command, so that person bound might be able to figure out how to take advantage of the wording of the command to get out of it. Still, the idea of involuntarily being forced to do something has its charms.

The Brainwashing Booth: It was a booth you sat in (very much like a "sit down" videogame in format). You are bound to the chair, and your eyelids taped so they can't shut. You are subjected to flashing lights and sounds (with a meter showing your resistance level, so they can be adjusted just for you). In front of you is a picture of a person. That picture becomes burned onto your mind; when it is finished, you still have all your faculties and abilities, but that person's picture is burned onto your mind, to the point where your primary motivation in life is to serve that person. Any other consideration is secondary.

The Venus Girdle: This takes the Magic Lasso one step farther. When enclosed in the Venus Girdle, you not only have to obey any command ANYBODY gives to you, but you WANT to do it. Not only can't you break out, it takes a tremendous amount of willpower to even want to break out. You have very little volition of your own; your sole purpose and greatest joy is to be commanded and do what you are commanded to do. Essentially, you turn completely submissive and obedient. There was one scene in particular from the story, "Villainy, Inc." which shows Amazon guards being overpowered by the villains, having Venus girdles put on them while they're struggling, and, in the next scene, submissively following the commands of the villains.

The other two could be done with some straightforward hypnosis regarding a trigger related to wearing specific clothing, but this one is something more interesting. VR headsets are already in use for the Mind Melting Machine app, and it's very much possible to add both words and images to the subliminals that flash onscreen. With a few transparent .PNGs and a little tweaking it would be possible to make a file that ingrains a desire to serve the person depicted. Combine a good VR headset with some chair bondage (whether simple ropes or a fully-custom chair with straps for the subject) and this could be a very immersive experience.

Adjusting such a VR experience on the fly can't really be done in MMM yet, but it's been brought up in the discord as a potential future feature once or twice.

As for me, rather than being hypnosis adapted from stories, most of the stories I post on this site have some basis in hypnosis scripts that I couldn't quite make work as files.

Well, actually, hypnotic trances can be used to build up a sort of hypnotic VR machine. MzDominica actually put together two techniques to start creating this sort of thing before she retired. The first was a gimmick in a Lois Lane comic (#79); the villain had a device (in the form of a musical keyboard) which could induce any emotion he desired into a subject. MzDominica created an MP3 with this effect in "Collar of Control" (available on this site). She then combined it with the brainwashing booth as part of her chastity series, n Cumslave 3, creating a virtual brainwashing machine.

It's been a while, and I see that I hadn't continued this. There are several fictional devices that turn people into automatons, essentially only doing what commanded to do and obeying any command without emotion one way or the other. Played for laughs in sitcoms, like an episode of Gilligan's Island where a mad scientist gives the castaways rings which, when activated, turns them into this, but my favorite was the Amnesia Helmets from Buck Rogers. Essentially, the person forgets everything about themselves, and will just do whatever they are told, once again, without emotion. Here's a video of Killer Kane using it on Buck Rogers: https://youtu.be/DX1XkjDK7X0

Heinlein's Puppet Masters ?
parasitic alien invaders try to take over the world ..

Maybe Trilby (George du Maurier) should feature for being the source of a lot of the tropes that became common public perception
I believe that turn of the last century hypnosis was a popular trope in literary porn. Sadly I don't have any examples not that I've really tried to find them. hmm.

Well, for this board, I suspect people are more interested in the mind control angle than the master plan.

IIRC, in The Puppet Masters, the person becomes a vehicle for the controlling being, aware of what the being is doing, but having no control over his or her own body. I've seen that in a few hypnotic trances, having a secondary personality take over your primary one while your primary one remains aware.
