Punishment Curse

[I also posted this in my journal, but its hard to read there because it appears to have stripped out my
/
, so I'm posting here as well]
I'm too indecisive. Yesterday, I gave a friend who I trust a lot a link to this site, and asked her to pick a file for me because I couldn't make up my mind.
So the new file in my playlist was ... CursePunishmnet.
I've tried it once so far, and I must say I've never felt a file work so effectively from the first time. Is it really true that curses are stronger?
However, the effects weren't quite as described. As soon as I said the trigger, I just couldn't keep my eyes open. I could visualise the scene described in the file, and it looked almost real, but I could still hear my computer buzzing and feel the bed I was really lying on. When I closed my eyes, I switched to visualising my scene from outside, so I could see myself getting whipped.
I got 25 strokes of the whip, just like it says in the file. I gritted my teeth and tried to withstand it, but after the first few I couldn't stop flinching and crying out with every stroke. But the weird thing is, even though I couldn't stop myself responding physically to the pain, I couldn't actually feel it. The nearest I got to actually feeling pain was a dull ache across my back and chest, the same feeling I get the day after a half-marathon with insufficient training.
I tried the trigger again this morning ... the file doesn't say what happens if you try it twice in one day. It was about the same I guess ... but this time the 'being unable to move afterwards' didn't happen at all (it lasted just over 5 minutes the first time, although it felt like half an hour of boredom)
I'm tempted to give up on this file and try a new one, but I can't help wondering if it would be more realistic (less odd, maybe more exciting) after listening for 2 or 3 days. I'm not intending to carry on for a whole year, but I'm reluctant to give up on anything without at least finding out how it feels once its got a bit more realistic.
One other comment: The file also suggests you will feel that you are wearing collar+cuffs at all times, to remind you about the curse. This 'extra' is not mentioned at all in the description, and is pretty near a hard limit for me. I really wish these things would be labelled more appropriately. Luckily, this suggestion didn't actually do anything on me (although, as suggested, I found myself very reluctant to mention this)
If this was a trigger file, I'd have no second thoughts about going further.
