Great Entrancing Songs

Postby whatsername100 » November 25th, 2007, 4:51 pm

What are your favorite songs to listen to to go into trance?

I have several:

"Comfortably Numb"- Pink Floyd
"Rest"- Green Day/Sweet Children
"Heaven"- Angels and Airwaves
"Valkyrie Missile"- Angels and Airwaves
"Rule 76"- Amber Pacific
"Hey You"- Pink Floyd
"Dry Ice"- Green Day
"The Adventure"- Angels and Airwaves

Stairway to Heaven

You need to focus all your attention on it to make it out usually anyway, so I can imagine it would be very easy to trance to.

Good idea, I should probably try this sometime, as the song fascinates me. The "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow. . ." part always comes out weird, like it's a metaphor for something. Heck, the whole song can be seen as a metaphor, and that's just the kind of thing to occupy your conscious mind. Maybe even try it backwards, because the backwards lyrics are more vague and interesting.

I'd never thought to use pop music to trance to, although I have considered using classical, either baroque or more moody (e.g. Wagnerian) music. I do use music to wake me up if the awakener fails or is too short, either using a march version of "Die Wacht am Rhein" or Van Halen's "Jump"

I remember the very first time I was hypnotised and felt it was listening to REM. We were in the car on the way to the airport for the hols and had the Greatest Hits (you know the one with the moon on the album cover?).
I remember being dead tired as we had an early flight and after just sitting there listening to it with my eyes closed (I wasn't driving ;-) ) it got to about the fourth song... and then it was over. Got through about 14 songs in the blink of an eye. How do I know I didn't just fall asleep?

...Because I still remembered hearing each and every song in their entirety, but at the same time the time it took to hear them felt like no time at all...
It is so hard to explain and after my initial surprise I couldn't get over how awesome it was!

If there is anyone who hasn't heard Pink Floyd's "Comfotably Numb", especially when trying to go into trance, I strongly reccomend it. Here's a video [Not the real music video] with the song's lyrics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1htZFVGsBMw

Moments in Love is an excellent trance song. I've seen it used in one of Hypnofantasy's subliminal files and also a remixed variant of it used in an actual hypnosis show at my college. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the remixed version. The closest I could find to it was the quiet storm version of the song. The remixed version had absolutely no voices.

"Macy's Day Parade"- Green Day

Despite the song's name, it's a very relaxing song.
