Would listening to the files be effective while you sleep? In particular would the lucid dreaming file work while asleep?

From my experiences, no, using files while sleeping will not work, may make sleep more difficult, or may induce weird dreams (usually dreams where you cannot hear the other people or you seem deaf 8) )

Using files before sleep (or as you are falling asleep), especially lucid dream files, would be better. IMHO, the best thing for lucid dreaming is not hypnosis but of variety of daily mental activities such as a dream journal combined with some sort of strategy, (mine is "wake back to bed"--- wake up after 4-6 hours of sleep then sleep some more).

I think the files can work while asleep. I have used a few of them over night and have had dreams where people around me were quoting the file I was listening too. I mean technically sleep is a form of trance anyway.

I've tried listening the lucid tape and other before sleep, but I always end up waking up 30 min. to 2 hours later realizing the tape has stopped or is still repeating...
Works better during afternoon for me, but other people distracting is common.
