What should you feel

Postby hgoodsby » May 31st, 2011, 12:02 pm

This is my first time really trying to do this. What am i suppose to feel during trance? You you completely zone out like when you sleep or are you still conscience? Like last night i felt very heavy, like my limbs didnt want to move and very relaxed but not all that deep. I could still feel my wife moving next to me in bed and i could feel and hear the fan next to the bed as well. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It sounds like you were in a trance. For me, how I experience trance varies. From one day to the next, from different files of the same hypnotist, from different hypnotists. Its based on several things actually - a couple of things that influence me are:

How well I can relax - sometimes if I am really stressed its harder to drift into a trance.

How comfortable I am with the hypnotist - the more I listen to a hypnotist's files the easier it is to go into trance with their voice. Also important is how much I trust the hypnotist - am I comfortable with all the suggestions in their file.

You can certainly be in a good trance and feel completely aware of your surroundings, especially when working with a hypnotist in person. I have experienced having a hypnotist put me in trance, bring me out, discuss what I felt and instantly find myself doing or feeling something the hypnotist suggests while we are talking. I have also had trance experiences that were extremely deep where I remember only the first part of the induction and the ending awaken suggestions with no memory of what was said in between. But usually I fall somewhere in between those experiences.

That's one of the reasons its hard to tell someone what to expect in trance. Its really better to not think about trance at all. Just get comfortable, relax, breathe deeply and slowly, try to clear your mind, and just focus on what the hypnotist is telling you. Soon you will learn what trance is for you. It just takes practice and time to learn. And it sounds to me like you are well on your way.

By the way, you do not need to be in a deep trance to get results. Some believe better results can be achieved with lighter trance states.
