What type of headphones do you guys use? I just have the ones that clip on your ears, with no band that goes over your head. I've been thinking of getting a pair that completely covers your ears, because I think the ones I have let to much other noise in.

What do you guys use/think?

I use a pair of Sharp headphones. They cover my ears but not like the big DJ-style headphones (they're more like walkman-type)

One of the things I did learn to do, though, since they let in noise as well; is to rest my head on my pillow and then lay another pillow over my head. I place the second pillow across my forehead and it's large enough to lay down over my ears.

In this way my head is kind of enveloped between two pillows and almost no noise gets in. (It's also kind of comfy in a snuggle-your-head kind of way) Just remember to bend the pillow or leave enough room for your nose and mouth to be unobstructed. >.>

I found I had to do this because my computer fans are insanely loud in my room and distract me easily. Especially after the file says "Everything else is fading away" or somesuch... because my brain automatically thinks "Everything else? Like what? Oh, that fan... and the boiler in the basement... and the car down the street... and..." -_-

I use Sennheiser phones, that go directly into the ear. I just had these, so I use them. But I do think, that I prefer this type, because they don't cook the entire outer ear. Furthermore if you turn your head they don't get pushed off by the pillow. (I always lie down on my bed when I'm doing hypnosis).

Generally speaking people should just use the phones, they are most comfortable with.

Sorry for the mini-bump, but I wanted to answer this:

When I listen to the files, I use Sony headphones. They are big, and bulky, but they will block most outside sound, allow me to hear the sound better, and ensure that I disturb noone while listening. A triple-threat! Well worth the $17.
