Shifting the Tonal Range or Speed of a file

Hey folks...

Small thing I'm contemplating...

Some of the files on here, well, I like the concept of the file, but the tonal quality or the cadence of the hypnotist doesn't work for us...

Now, I know some of you are going to say 'just take the script and redo it yourself', but some of these are multi-layer files, with binaurals and subliminals...

And there aren't scripts for all of them...

What, if any, effect, would lowering the tonerange of a file, or slowing it downspeeding it up slightly have on it?

Thanks,
L.I.

Despite some distortion of the voice, it would put the voicing into a range you like, MAYBE. I'm not very informed on audio manipulation, but it always sounds funny to me when someone messes with the audio data to find a new voice.

As for sublims and binaurals, there are plenty of ways to (re)-do those with Audacity. I've even got a metronome effect in there, works pretty well! This is why I got into making my own files, there weren't enough files to satiate my unusual (for this site) tastes, so I started making my own.

I used audacity to lower the tone of my own voice & I liked the effect--sounded a little more commanding. It was a project I started & never finished.

No biggie.

With the exception of binaural beat effects, slightly altering the speed of an audio hypnosis file should have little effect on the delivery of suggestions. And, as we are probably talking about increases/decreases of less than 20%, the effects on binaural beats should not be enough as to cause detriment to the session.

Exceeding 20% however is likely to mess things up with binaural tones and could even effect subliminal suggestions, depending on how they were delivered. So trying to make a masculine voice sound more feminine, for example, might not be a good idea, but increases or decreases of 17% or less might be worth giving a try.

Happy experimenting! :-)
