The notes, chords and patterns are already INSIDE and the link between their fingers and their thoughts is seemless.

Well alot of people starting out on guitar or still at amatuer level are playing guitar CONSCIOUSLY. They're paying particular attention to the fingering, and the notes, and they way to hold the guitar.

Furthermore there's often a lack of confidence in the playing. The CONSCIOUS mind is wondering things, like should I put my fingers here or should I put them here. Would a C sound better or would an A sound better. Does this sound right, or would this sound better?

If hypnosis were aimed towards making guitar playing a more unconscious process... (because after all once your unconscious knows the note or the chord or the pattern.... it knows the pattern) and if it were geered towards giving a player more confidence, those are other ways in which something like this could work.

your right op_z. when i play a song in guitar hero enough, i do it with out thinking. also think about the crazy stunts guitars do when on stage. you think they could do that if the had to conscitrat on playing.

I have to agree about playing guitar subconsciencely. I play guitar and More often than not I do so with out thinking about what I am playing.
