My shoulders are always so tense! Cuz of this i'd rather lay down than sit, but then my throat gets so dry. Suggestions for the shoulders or mostly the dry throat?

I have the same problem. I get uncomfortable if I try sitting when I trance, especially once I relax and wind up leaning on top of myself, so I also lay down. And my throat gets dry as well, and after the slightest thought about it, I wind up swallowing. Kinda distracting, because my throat winds up the only part of me that doesn't feel relaxed for the trance. I can't really think of a way to fix it, so I just try to ignore it and hope that the hypnosis takes effect, anyway.

Well, I always lie down - I simply can't relax as well in a sitting position. My throat used to be a bit of a problem as well; not so much because it went dry, but rather because I kept having to swallow to stop it from getting dry. My solution has been to simply keep my mouth closed.

Keeping it completely shut can also distract you (it's not a natural position for it to be closed if you're relaxing), but if you compromise and keep it so that your lower lip just touches your top row of teeth, you should be fine.

Well, my mouth isn't neccessarily jaw-clamped shut, but it's not open when I relax and far as I know I'm not forcing it.

Keeping your jaw closed can be a bit of a problem. I suggest you concentrate on a controlled motion, like breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. It should also help deepen your trance if you do it during the induction. So other helpful tips are to not be in a dry room, a humidifier can help if you own one. I like to prop my head up and I find it helps. Also, drink some cold water before you get started. Good luck!

how about laying down but at an angle - kinda propped up?

i cant sit and relax, but i can't lay very comfortably either as i have a screwed back and shoulder. - so i lay down but prop myself up with pillows - not only is this comfortable, but its really hard to have my mouth open allowing ym throat to dry out, ...and... i find it a lot easier to register the fact that im relaxing as i literally sink into the pillows

Sugary drinks like fanta or tea work for me.
