Hypnosis, Next Thing to Virtual Reality.

Now, A though just occured to me, an intresting thought.

Many people imagine a "virtual reality" when they strap on all this high tech gear, and there mind is put into this action pacted world where they have a blast.

The true problem is that technology has yet to acheive to put someone to put someone's mind into a scenario, in where altering what the "player" perceives around them with all senses. where they live out there dream fanasy.

However, Hypnosis, on the other hand, Has. http://www.warpmymind.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5024&start=15

Get where I'm going with this?

If we really wanted to, We could all ready be the star of our own stories, our own movies. We could live out more then just our sexual fanasy, We could be jumping across roof from roof, hell, we could be superman.

This is almost the sole reason I started hypnosis in the first place, I can't just simply live my life normally. Where's the fun in that? Get up, go to school/work, eat, work, go home, eat, sleep. Then you die.

Fun.

Call me ignorant, but fuck virtual reality, we already got what we need. =\

That would be pretty neat, though it may encourage actual jumping off of roof tops. :D

In your file you say don't attempt this in real life.

Fixed.

Except that you fail to acknowledge the real implications of using hypnosis. While some if can be for fun, eventually it may end up causing some long term implications, even in the case of triggered suggestions. Most usage of hypnosis as a means of fulfilling fantasies deals mostly with either lessening related phobias, or as some sort of fetish work. Both of which come with less serious, and more intentional long term implications. But, something like suggesting that the person can fly, or do anything which might be potentially fatal or harmful for themselves or others is likely a very bad idea, especially if the hypnotist is not very skilled at using the correct language, and if the participant is not totally aware of the chance for any lasting effects.

For stuff like this, you're usually best just using your imagination, or videogames (still kinda harmful) to do those kinds of things. Hypnosis is not a toy to be taken lightly.

You all presume that no one is capable of making firm decisions for themselves, assuming people lack the ability to keep themselves safe from an mp3........ I highly doubt ANYONE would listen to a file like this and then go jump off a building.

That being said, you can just listen to Lucid Dream Train and do whatever you like in your dreams. I've been listening to it every night for months and now I truly can do whatever I wish. It's very cathartic.

I was implying that you play though a set scenaio, like before you fall asleep, or something of the such. Like a movie, except first person

And I dunno, Make a mark on their arm to show there in the alternate reality? If I could not tell, then I would use common sense and not do anything stupid.

I only said to "encourage" it in my post.

There are some people in this world will do some pretty stupid things.

I think this has the potential to be great. I've been thinking about it lately too, how hypnosis is a form of storytelling in the second person voice and could be used to make a person feel like they're in a story. I've been letting the idea stew, but a story file is coming using you as the main character. We'll see how it works.
