I just tried to go into trance and was going in deep because I stopped thinking about anything when suddenly my hand not only twitches but jumps right off my stomach where it was resting and wakes me up. I started to drift off again and then my leg suddenyl went in the air! Anyone know a way of stopping this from happening?

A muscle twitch when as relaxed as hypnosis or sleep makes you can be a sign of your body using up excess energy. Try having a really tiring (but not strenuous or hard) day of exercising, even just a very long walk could help.

or.....

a spliff :)

But of course you may not do/approve of drugs

So maybe something else relaxing, Horlicks maybe I have heard is good for relaxation.

Of course as the guy above said excercise is good, but im a lazy bugger so I come up with easy ways :D

Sometimes I feel a muscle twitch, like in my leg. But having your whole leg up in the air... you may need an exorcism. (j/k)

Just keep going at it. If you ignore it, just use repitition... just relax, and focus on the voice... become more and more relaxed...

You could do something rhythmic, like moving you foot from side to side, this will help to focuse excess energy, and may help you go deeper into a trance. Doing some exercise an hour before might help too.

The problem is that when your musles jerk, you go "Oh, damn I'm not in trance" and you wake up. Just ignore it

When I first started listening to the files I used to find that my leg muscles would twitch all the time , usually when I was past the relaxing of them, and working on another part of my body like my arms.
I learnt after a while it was cos I hadnt truly relaxed enough to start off with...
You just got to let go, and let it happen........

I have the same problem, and I think it happens if you're not too tired. Your body becomes very relaxed, and it thinks that it's falling asleep. The jerk is to wake your body up.

I sometimes twitch a bit, and it is one of the only things that stop me from going to sleep completely
