I don't know for sure how well hypnosis works on sleeping subjects, but as far as I know, it reduces the effectiveness. It all depends on how active your brain's auditory functions (hearing, cognition, etc) are when you're asleep, but one should note that hypnosis is a state of heightened awareness, while sleep... not so much.

How did you 'wake up' again.
At the end of the file with the count up with the last number?
Just in the middle?
After the file had stopped for a while?
The first one often indicates a good nice state of hypnosis.
The last two just sleeping.

I woke up with saying thank you for listening to my file

Then it could be that you didn't actually fall asleep and actually just have post-hypnotic amnesia. That's definitely very common.

And that, post-hypnotic amnesia, is typically a pretty good indication of a nice hypnotic state.
One that many here want to achieve but never do :-)

Not knowing what file you listened to I can not really say.
But... you seem to enter a nice state of hypnosis... so chances are that the file's effects are being put in place, yes.

Ya i'm with him it was a trance.
Though you can be hypnotized while sleeping but not by traditional hypnotism. If your sleeping its more on the side of subliminal messeges and brainwashing for affecting sleeping people. Hypnotism itself is based off getting somebody to feel different in order to affect changes. Subliminal and brainwashing work off the aspect of making somebody think differently. Subliminal works best if you have the person record it that way its their own voice telling them instead of a stranger's or something. Your own voice means your own thoughts which makes it work better.
