not sure if this is something which would appeal to others, but how about a section of the site devoted to "where voting ideas go to die," which would be a repository of all the files that didn't make it, and were erased from the site.

this would serve the added bonus of perhaps stemming the tide of repetitive file ideas, as well as just being nice to look at & possibly provide ideas for rogue hypnotists who are looking for something "nice" for their victim/listener.

just a thought!

Do files not made even fall off that list? It's so long, I assume that anything added to the voting page stays there for all time.

Yes, files that have NO chance of making the top get deleted every few months(it's fairly due). Usually if a file doesn't average 0.7 votes a day it will be removed. The ones at the very top do(eventually) get made, but it's probably on an average of 1 every month or so.
