Problem Files

Postby EMG » September 4th, 2005, 1:54 pm

I have heard that some people have troubles with the sound levels on a few files when it transitions between the induction and the body. Please let me know which files these are and I will see about correcting the problem.

I can offer a suggestion on this which you may or may not already do.
Use a sound editor to normalise the various parts of the files separately before combining them. Also, I find it helpful to put a bit of compression on each part before normalising. From experience about 12:1 off the top end works well - it reduces any occasional loud 'impulses' to a regular level which would otherwise affect the mean sound level of the segments. Thus when they are combined, the mean levels are similar, and little or no difference in volume can be heard.
