haters should be suspended from the site for a week
I agree all the stuff I put on the voting page got shot down despite being absolutely normal stuff. I put on items like punk boy and goth boy which are along the same lines as traintotaljock, as well as raccoon transformation, platypus transformation, inuyasha transformation, rubber twinkification, and ferret furry just to name some.

Rating a pay file 1 because it's a pay file is different from voting down on the voting page. By a huge amount.
How about you can only rate a file if you have downloaded it. With pay files that would mean if it isn't marked as "purchased" on your account then you can't rate it. Simple as that, problem solved.
If the whole "encourage more ratings and comments" system of flagging a file as recently downloaded and then telling you "have you listened to this file yet?! Would you like to rate/comment on it?" is incorporated then including a "can only rate if listened to" thing would be really easy I'm sure and a much much much much much more reasonable solution than "banning haters for a week."
How would you even do that? How could you possibly tell if someone voted down for a legitimate reason or not on the voting page or on any file with more than 0 downloads? Why would it be against the rules to have dissenting opinions?

I do plan on updating this system to limit voting to people who have downloaded a file, I just haven't done it yet.

I think that is a very good idea. I eagerly await the modifications.

Ok, voting on a file is now impossible unless you have downloaded it first. This doesn't keep people from being dicks, but it does make them work harder to be one(and means that you have to purchase a file to rate it and must have a premium membership to rate a new file)
