Am I the only one who thinks that it's borderline ironic that what adby's doing here is also a form of scam?
All seriousness aside, as a forum moderator I have to say that adby has posted what he wanted to post in the right forum to post it and he seems within the privileges allowed him in posting it.
EMG gives people a lot of leeway here when it comes to self-expression. If we start limiting people's freedom of expression, how long will it be before we are told that hypnotizing people can only be done in certain situations, or only by certain people, and certainly can NOT done in the privacy of your own bedroom?
Censorship is a slippery slope, so allowing users to express themselves so long as they don't infringe on the rights of others is a good policy and seems to have served this site well so far.
That doesn't mean there aren't limits and I assure you, should adby or any other forum user cross those boundaries they are usually made aware of the fact in a prompt but appropriate manner.
So, if you are tired of reading the inane garbage that adby seems to be posting lately, I suggest you do what I'm do - if I have no reason to read his posts, I skip over them. That's right. Unless he posts in one of the three forums I help to moderate, I am currently just ignoring all of his posts. Believe me, it wasn't an easy thing for me to do at first, but as with most things one needs to do in life, a little practice quickly makes it quite easy.
You see, I love this site and refuse to let any single user lessen my enjoyment of it one iota. I have managed to make several friends here and I love the open forums and the feeling of sharing that exists here more than at any other file site. EMG has made it possible for a me and other file authors to feel "at home" here. And, just like at home, occasionally there is a guest or even a family member who matters to stir things up a bit or even cause a little commotion. And also just like at home, I hate to see anyone scolded too severely or told to leave or go and not return.
Luckily (and happily), these are not my decisions to make - EMG holds the mortgage here and reserves those rights for himself. Trust me Score_Under, EMG has received other complains and is well aware of the situation. Also trust me that the Big Guy will deal with the matter in the way He deems most appropriate, just like He always does.
So, much like I would do at home, let me ask that you continue to be tolerant, patient and trust that things are being taken care of. And in the meantime, let me share one of my favorite proverbs: If everyone ignores a barking dog long enough, it eventually goes away.
