hypnosis in the matrix?
Posted: July 15th, 2010, 1:30 pmI'm new to this hypnosis thing, but based on what I've learned so far, I noticed something interesting while watching the first Matrix movie recently.
(this is about to get extremely nerdy)
When the agents capture Morpheus, Tank explains to Neo that the agents will be attempting to "hack" Morpheus's mind. The amount of time it takes depends on the strength of the mind. And that once they manage to change his brainwaves (and I beleive this does happen in hypnosis) he will tell them anything they want him to.
In the scene where they show Agent Smith trying to crack Morpheus, I noticed he was repeating himself, using affirmations (You ARE going give me the codes), and speaking slowly. Over time, Morpheus looks like he is fighting to keep his conscious mind present.
I was surprised to notice this use of hypnosis, and thought I'd share it.
