my answers:

1. In essence a sissy is a born male who yearns for femininity and enjoys being considered a "sissy". While sissies strive for femininity, they don't usually fully identify as female, and almost always choose to keep their penis rather than undergo sex reassignment surgery.

2. My personal spin on sissyhood is complicated, which is partly why I'm making this thread. I see sissyhood as both a sexual interest and a lifestyle, so my preferences can be divided. To me the ideal sissy is soft, delicate, and emotional, and I try to live up to that ideal. Although I'm girly, I identify as a "sissy" rather than as a girl. A lot of my interest focuses on my clitty, which I like to keep soft, small, and cute. I also have a huge anal fixation and really like imagining being penetrated or watching porn of others being penetrated. Once in a blue moon I'll get out my dildo and fuck myself with it, but the preparation and lack of privacy is a limiting factor. 2.I think for me, just going out in public more often and making friends while dressed as a sissy has been the greatest turn on for me. Or dressing up in general. Here are the 11 phases of Sissification, which are currently floating around on some online sissy communities, such as Newfapchan. I copied them and I think we will all find them quite enlightening. Enjoy.....

i get the sense from those that i have chatted with that the term means many things to many people. i personally view the term like the OP. i see being a sissy as being distinct from someone who is coming to terms with being transgendered. the more traditional usage of the term "sissy" as an effeminate man would seem to back up this point of view, but i have met people who used a sissy lifestyle as a stepping stone to transitioning, so i can understand bostonmarc's point of view as well.

although there is nothing shameful about being a woman or dressing like one, i have noticed that many sissies enjoy elements of humiliation with their sissy play, but again, i do not think this is true for everyone.

bostonmarc isn't far off with the stages listed. Although, as a transsexual woman, it's hard for me to say specifically. The impetus for me was different and the early stages greatly differ for me, with far less porn involved, because the feelings and needs to be feminine preceded puberty. And stage 11 is rarely ever regretted if one is a transsexual woman. I would assume if one is what most people seem to think a sissy is that surgery would not be something they want. On the other hand, I think the consensus on 7chan is that a trap (a similar term to sissy) would not even get hormones. Again, I'm not an expert on that, because for me it was stage 6 before I ever knew how to stage 1.

So I think I would specify that a sissy is probably:
- Presents as female full time
- Has a full female wardrobe and no male clothes
- Is out in public as female
- Has not had surgery (not my definition, but that seems to be the consensus)
- Airheaded and doesn't do much intellectually
- Craves sex with men only, generally men older than her
- May or may not have hormones (?)
- Does not have a job outside of sex work or dancing

Did I miss anything?

P.S. This whole definition thing is weird for me though, because as a transsexual woman seeking surgery (which I definitely need) I still get turned on by bimbo files, particularly with the idea of airheadedness. I think after surgery I'll probably start using regular female files. For now, I stay here because they have files that are feminine, but deal with the equipment I unfortunately have to work with right now.
