the rationalists who believe in evolution say no because biology does not allow it, they may be right but I want to know their opinions.
And even if it were so, they would never believe it because for them there is no magic there is no God there is nothing supernatural

its a simple scientific matter. Excluding surgical and medical treatments, no a person can not change their gender, no amount of mental gymnastics can change that

One can be convinced and encouraged to change their appearance

You cannot change the physical sex, but you can change the gender, possibly. It is also possible that it won't change your gender, but reveal in you something that was already there.
