How to listen to files?

Hello,
Do the files work better if you use headphones or speakers? Or is it just a prefrence?
I am trying to find out what work best for me, Jenna

I find that using headphones is better. With binaural files it is essential. According to the theory behind binaurals, the binaural effect is created by the difference between what is heard in each ear. Without headphones the effect is dilluted because with regular speakers some of the sound only intended for one ear gets heard by the other.

Headphones for me, too, but I have housemates. Not using headphones could lead to awkward situations.

thanks for your replies. I broke my headphones and have been listining through pc speakers and its just not the same. -jenna
