Most people new to this don't recognize being under. Pay attention to your internal monologue. That's how I notice. I have a somewhat manic brain, so when I'm listening to a hypnotist and not thinking, I usually know I'm at least somewhat under. Lack of desire to move or compulsion to follow suggestions are other indicators. I often watch a slideshow when I'm going under, but commonly notice my eyes have difficulty staying open during countdown. That's another good indicator.

What happens when you try going under?

Acting on suggestions isn't like the movies. That takes time.

So what do I do? Same problem. I feel relaxed, not wanting to move... My eyes get heavy, and I almost forget about everything around. But I do not act on the suggestions. What do I do? Just listen over and over? :?

And how often is it best to listen for the best effect? Every few hours, or once a day? Or maybe just let it loop for 2-3 times in a row?

Hard to say. I usually listen to a file at least once a day when it's new, then rotate with other files after a week or so. It's not a strategy, as much as it is just how it happens, but I have noticed effects over time for suggestions that were very different than my usual thinking. Often, it takes a few months, though some files seem to work much faster.
