Help with Audacity "layers"?

Postby Endo » August 29th, 2012, 8:10 pm

I've edited a few files together in Audacity, using the trigger sequence from "Bubble Trigger Refresh", and the entirety of "Tentacle Surprise", but now I want to edit in either that stuff in the background from "Bubble Induction", "Bubble Trigger Refresh", (which has the trigger sequence running in the background), or a basic binural.

First question: What binural frequency works the best for most people?
2nd: How can I grab the background stuff from a file while using Audacity?
3rd: How can I put that stuff into a file while using Audacity?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

There is a supposedly optimal carrier frequency for each binaural tone you are trying to create, and 440Hz is supposedly good all-round from what I've read. I've posted a list below. I use the one closest to it and it works well enough.

Some good erotic ones I've seen listed are 3.07 hz and 55hz. Mentioned as hara and kundalini respectively in frequency charts. There's a torrent available or you can search for the lists to find some to try out. Or simply listen to monotones that change very slowly for inspiration if you have a good awareness of your own body. I find square no alias tones to be most effective, though louder than sine ones and always audible. Audacity seems to create really loud ones, I generally chose point 1 as amplitude and it's still so loud I have to reduce the channel volume if I'm mixing it. I recently read http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread542424/pg1 a frequency of ca 5 hz, or 3-5hz is good for increasing suggestibility. The author suggested using 50 and 55hz to create it.

2: Don't know whether it's even possible or would yield good results. You could however create something like it but copypasting the parts you like repeated from the normal file and reducing the volume and repeating it.
3: If you have a file to use as background, you just import it, have it running as a separate channel, or layer, whatever it's called. You can use the repeat function and cutting stuff out to edit length. Then reduce volume on the. Try to avoid increasing volume on anything as it tends to distort IMO. When you are done, export it as MP3 or whatever.

You can create things in stages to make it easier to work with and less CPU intensive. F ex creating the background track, exporting it and importing it when you're putting everything together, reducing volume at the last stage only. Same with the binaurals.
