Isn't using "except" in scripts an error? (ex. Hai

Postby obey_evolution » January 4th, 2014, 7:29 pm

Hi Everyone, I have been working with stopping body hair growth for months using "Curse Shaving" and "NoBodyHair" and a few more general feminization scripts with no real results (for hair loss) from what I can tell other than my scalp feeling more itchy despite being an exception within the file. As many other scripts are working for me, I tried to pin down what might be wrong in this script. Sorry for armchair quarterbacking, but I'd like to share my perhaps-stupid ideas with you all and see what you think.

(My perhaps-stupid thought) If we assume that the valid syntax for hypnotic suggestion excludes negatives (which I'm sure I've read somewhere) like "no" and "not" then shouldn't we also exempt "except"? I believe the results of using negatives is that you get the result of the script as if you just deleted the negative words so in the case of Curse Shaving, whenever you are programming with "all body hair will die off EXCEPT for your scalp and eyebrows and eyelashes" you are actually focusing on loss of the hair on your scalp along with everyone else.

EMG , CycoMelody, SpaceFemale, and any other Hypno Gods out there who have recorded hair-related scripts, I am still trying to figure out some of the mechanics and theory on hypnotism so I can't really create my own modified files yet. Would anyone be willing to update some of the body-hair related scripts like "Curse Shaving", "NoBodyHair", "Curse Body of 18 year Girl", "Curse Super Female Whammy", and alike and update them to simply list the parts of the body to be made hairless like "... all body hair will die off below your neck. Also, the hair on your chin, cheeks, and neck will die off and make your facial hair completely feminine. Picture the facial hair of a woman you feel is beautiful and ...". Perhaps after doing this, you can use the hair-loss scripts and the "Grow Long Hair" script at the same time as the latter only affects the hair on your scalp, right?

If I haven't already left you laughing on the floor, I'll draw a connection that I've been pondering between the syntax for hypnotic suggestions and the syntax for requesting updates to your perceived universe based on The Law of Attraction (Ref: The Secret by Rhonda Byrne). The syntax for the latter excludes negatives as well. There is also a correlation between my previous post on "Trust and Believe / Listen and Obey" and The Secret's "Ask and Believe then Receive" structure. Next comes the correlation between hypnotic hallucination and The Secret's Visualization.

Here is a good quote that I'm wondering if it works for hypnosis as well: "To lose weight, don't focus on 'losing weight.' Instead, focus on your perfect weight and feel how that feels". This quote reminds me of the effective "UltraThinWaist" script that focuses on achieving a 20 inch waist not just getting a smaller waist.

Sorry for rambling on. What do you think? :-)

http://discreplay.typepad.com/hypnotic_psychotherapy/docs/extRef/Milton%20H%20Erickson%20-%20Hypnotherapy%20-%20An%20Exploratory%20Casebook.pdf

this is a milton erickson workbook. it is an interestng reading. not exhaustive by any means, but helpful in understanding what may be possible.

I would say you are on the right track with imagining what you want.
but at the end of the day, you have to really want it. and in most cases the language of the script is not going to be all that important so long as it reinforces your desire. I like to give many different examples of the same thing. that way, hopefully one will stick.

Good luck

I took a community college class in self-hypnosis once, long ago, and the co-teachers emphasized what you said about not using negatives. I've also found "exception clauses" to be jarring, personally, and I think your instincts are right about it.

Disclaimer: Despite the class and lifelong interest (I distinctly remember a pre-pubescent boner in the library adult psych shelves once - they wouldn't let me check out the book without calling my parents, so I passed on it), I've never hypnotized anyone nor been unequivocally hypnotized.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The link looks really interesting despite being 421 pages. I'll start on it this weekend.
I'm not sure what "unequivocally hypnotized" means from your perspective. I found big step in deepening my trance came when I started mixing the audio with a metronome set to noticeable under 1 beat per second. I use my smartphone for playback and let the audio mixer mix the metronome in at 35 to 40 beats per minute. It really helped me as I'm ADD and get board in the time a fly takes to eat breakfast. :-)

Cheers
