The Great Nate80 Method

Postby Endo » April 28th, 2014, 9:39 am

So, after dropping a few hints that I had a self-hypnosis method that was working pretty well for me, in addition to documenting my earliest adventures with this method a while back, I figured it was about time to put this out into the open. Several months ago, I put out a general ask for someone who could be a 'tist without being a "master" so to speak, and could help me with some stuff. Nate80 showed up and taught me this method of self-hypnosis.

Everything described here will be much simpler and easier for you if you already have lots of experience entering trance. The more skill you have with traditional hypnosis, the better everything will be for you here. That's not to say that a complete newbie can't pick this up, it will just be difficult.

Without further ado, The Great Nate80 Method! (I named it that, not him.)

This is going to take a bit of planning on your part. This method makes use of an imagined "construct", a very powerful metaphor for the entire hypnosis process. You will need to plan out your construct before you attempt much, but don't worry, the construct can be modified to better suit you if necessary. The ability to change your construct to make better sense to you should help your mind shut up and accept what is going on, should you have an analytical mind.

As for planning out your construct, there are several metaphors embedded in the entire thing. First, there's one to shut out the outside world, one to take you deep into trance, one to act as a "body" that will allow you to design the changes you with to enact, one that will allow you to talk directly to your subconscious, and one to bring you back up and out, which could also be the one that takes you down.

For me, I have a large vault door then an elevator down to hub of sorts which branches out to several specialized areas, but don't worry about those yet. From there, I can enter a laboratory of sorts, which is where I do my work. After I'm done, I just back-trace my steps, go up through the elevator, and open the vault door, then I'm back in the material world. Now, there is a dog-man that accompanies me each step of the way, and he is the avatar for my subconscious. I can talk to him, and he'll talk back. This dog-man grew up from a puppy, with his age/size representing his level of power to enact the changes that I have created in the construct.

Each item named above is a metaphor of sorts for what is actually going on, an interface that I can "see" and interact with in order to enact the changes I desire.

You do not need to copy exactly what I have done here. You probably shouldn't, as your "best" metaphor will fit you much more suitably than mine will fit you.

There are many "advanced" things that a person can achieve with this method that I have not thoroughly explored, and many others that I am unaware of.

Please ask if anything is unclear.

Thank you for reading!

Hello Endo, I'm curious to hear more about Nate80's method. How do I work with my "construct"? I've listened to many files, and have read a few text files, (with pretty good success) and with these methods there always seems to be words that distract my conscious mind while speaking to my subconscious. If I come up with the construct what do I do next? For instance, using your example, do I tell myself a story about opening the vault door and descending in the elevator to the level of the branching passageways? I recognize that doing this could be a metaphor for going deep into trance. But, what I read in your post is simply to make the construct. What do I do next? And what about the branching specialized areas? How do I engage with these? By the way, when i fell asleep after reading this Nate80 post last night, I had a most curious sensation while dreaming that I was going under. In my dream (or maybe it wasn't a dream) I was remembering what I had read here, and as I "read" to myself I had the feeling I was going completely under. This was by far the most complete trance-feeling I have ever had.rnrnI wonder: was I having a sympathetic experience in a dream, or did I really go indoor? Is this post constructed like some texts I've read that induce trance by reading? Am I just very suggestible? I don't know. But I lived the sensation I had. I hope it happens again tonight!rnrnI appreciate you posting this, and I look forward to learning more from you.rnrnSincerely,rnrnJTrnrn[code:1][/code:1][code:1][/code:1]

Think of it as a guided fantasy mixed with some regular hypno. The main difference is that while you are being relaxed, YOU are the one giving the message to your subconscious, not some outside entity trying to bypass you.

You want to design the construct around your own lines of reasoning and logic, so that it becomes most effective for you, skirting any issues of "Well, that doesn't really make sense, but...okay."

After you have that designed (and feel free to play around with the metaphors from time to time, it'll keep things fresh, and you might find one that fits you better than your old one), you'll want to ENTER the construct. You'll do this simply by lying down, relaxing, and imagining yourself in your "spawn room", then you'll interact with the construct as if it were a physical, solid thing, all inside your own mind. (I could say some really spirity sounding stuff here which might make this all a bit more clear, but I like to avoid such language. "You must float out of your body and into the dimension of the construct.") This is where the guided fantasy aspect is most obvious. Once you've "run the gauntlet" and gotten down to a very deep layer of trance, then you'll be able to make the necessary changes you want. Personally, I have this sort of laboratory area, which has all kinds of tools and computers and chemicals that I can use to make those changes, or I can just walk over to my subconscious's avatar and say "Hey, do this."

The "branching area" is just a hub or hallway of sorts that allows you to select a specific room for a specific task. I have a library that allows me to access memories that Subc (the "name" given to my subconscious) has stored for me, a forest where the trees are each a personality trait that I can grow (or chop down), a "holo-deck" where I can do whatever I desire, as long as I can imagine it, and some other assorted odds and ends that fit my needs. Your rooms may/will differ, as you will have different needs. They're setup (again, tons of metaphor here) so that each room encourages different activities and focuses me on performing those activities the best.

I'm not aware of any lacings in this text, I've never even practiced such a thing, haha.

That is really cool. Thanks for sharing with us.

Like a lot of people, I have that problem where a file I'm trying is almost what I'm looking for, but has a line or two that throws it off for one reason or another. Then it's off to Audacity to try to pare it down, with mixed success.

As a result, I'm really gung ho about learning self hypnosis, for when there's not a file that quite has what I'm looking for, or doesn't quite fit into my psyche.

I'll be referencing this thread and practicing it. It sounds like it'd be a lot of fun.
