How dangrous/safe is all of this?

Postby ubermullet » November 3rd, 2005, 8:29 pm

Hey everyone, I'm a n00b here so excuse me from any arrogance I may show.

I'm really interested in this stuff, but I'm wondering how safe this really is. Some of my concerns are;

How do I know that these files don't contain hidden messages that will totally fuck me up?

What happens if I go into a trance, and fail to get out of it? With a professional Hypo-guy there, he can keep trying, but if I'm laying in bed by myself, who's going to be there to pull me out of it?

Well, as the operator of the site I can say that all the files do what they say, no more no less. As for getting into trance and not back out, that won't happen, the worst that would happen in that case is you'd either fall asleep on your own or just wake back up. Remember, you won't do anything under hypnosis that you wouldn't normally do.

Where can I read more on trances?

Like I mean a scientific document explaining exaclty what happens to your brain.

You can look at the FAQ of this site, or you can go here:

http://adult.hypnoticwishes.com/faq.shtml

which has both a pretty good explanation of hypnosis and a easy-to-read chart about differant stages of hypnotic trance

Thanks for that link. With me being a newb as well that information is quite helpful.

Also, if you're concerned about a file and what's contained in it, just listen to it without doing anything EMG says. I've done that with the files I plan to use just to see what he says in it and what I can expect from it. As long as you don't follow along and fall into trance you will hear it all. Then you can decide whether to use that file or not.

I'm about to start with my first file today or tomorrow. I'm just torn on which to try first; TrigStopProcrastinating or MemoryImprovement. I know TrigFreeze is recommened quite often, but I know what might happen. My client (I'm a care-giver) likes to pick with me quite often. If he were to learn the trigger he would trigger me a lot just for the fun of it. Imagine my horror stading in front of the stove cooking dinner and watching helplessly as it burns and I can't move. :)

So wish me luck and any tips would be welcome. Not likely I'd need tips. I'm certain all I have to do is what the file says at the beginning; find a quiet place and get comfortable. Only problem I forsee is a cat wanting to sit with me during the trance.

For starters, you might check this thread:

http://www.warpmymind.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=151

If you can get to a good library, preferably a college or university library, and have time to browse, you could do worse than to do that. If it uses Library of Congress indexing, look in the high end of the BF range. If it uses Dewey Decimal, look in and around the 150s. (BTW, the libraries at some public universities may extend limited borrowing privileges to members of the public.)

Here's something on color perception:

I love Warp My Mind. It is much better than Cats. I will listen to it again and again.
