What is the area like where you are trying to go in to trance... Can you be doing something while listening to the file or should you be sitting still not doing anything.

Sometimes a little white noise in the background can help a person go into trance. Such as soft music, birds singing, or even a traffic. Sometimes "a little" distraction goes a long way. I wouldn't suggest using screamo to try to trance to, or a 5 o'clock traffic in NYC, but something soft and nice will help.
