  • Gym Mantra 5.1 - Colossus Ascending    

    This file is the first in a series designed to listen to during your workout. There is no induction, these are meant to build an epic, world-shaking narrative in your mind that is connected, moment by moment, with your exercise. Like most of my work, there will be two voices - one in each ear.

    One voice will tell you the story, while the other will give you generally applicable reminders of basic weightlifting concepts and motivating you to continue until the 40 seconds is up (usually enough for 1-2 drops in weight, 2-3 failures). There is epic battle music in the background to help build the tension between sets and make those last couple sets seem absolutely crucial.

    This version is developed to start with a 1 minute stretching/rest period, followed by a 40 second drop-set (lifting until you fail to keep form, and immediately reducing weight and continuing until time is up), which is then repeated twice (stretch, set, rest, set, rest, last set).

    This files assumes timed drop sets, so select exercises you can change weights very quickly for.
