Bodybuilding - Day 8

[p]So, a week ago today I downloaded the Body Building Machine file and have listened at least once (but some days 2 or 3 times) a day. I'm not having as hard a time trancing to EMG's unductions as I once might have, so that's a plus. One a couple of times, I really did sink under for the bulk of the file, only to wake up at the wakener, so yay![/p] [p]This journal will be pretty boring, though, if I just keep posting "today I listened to the file" every day, so why not tell you what steps I'm taking in the quest for muscle? Maybe along the way I can let you know a bit about myself. And, hey, let's face it, online journals are more for the writer than for the reader anyway.[/p] [p]So, I'm going to be doing a version of the "HST" workout (Hypertrophy specific training), the idea being that muscle grows best with progressively increasing resistance and periodic change to prevent muscle adaptation. It's an 8-week program, repeat as necessary. The first 2 weeks are about sets of 15. You find out what your maxes are for 15 reps, and then over the 2 weeks you start at a low weight dong 15s (1 or 2 sets) and by the end of the 2 weeks, you should be lifting at your max weight for 15 reps. The next two weeks (3 and 4) are about the 10s, and weeks 5 and 6 are about the 5s. The last 2 weeks are supposed to be about crazy weights for negatives, but I'll need a workout partner for that. [/p] [p]Today and yesterday at the gym, I found my max weights for the 15s. Tomorrow and friday I'll try to do the 10s and 5s, and then next week I start week 1. It was a good workout, both days, an d I definitely enjoyed the pump I got. Is that the file? Who knows.[/p] [p]Also, I've now been alcohol free for 1 week. I'm giving up booze for November, because I suspect alcohol is the biggest reason why I do not have an 8-pack (I do have a keg, though...)[/p] [p]I -still- can't get the paragraphs to work. Who needs to be made dumber? On the internet I'm already pretty fyucking stupid.[/p]
