Too busy||some thoughts on trance

by BDweller

I have been very busy lately.Although I Haven't had many chances to listen,I managed to get some practice going.

The only thing i have noticed is having it easier relaxing with my eyes open.

As always, no results.

Anyway,I didn't expect to get any better, since most of the listens were very time constrained and I was always worried about being late.

Irrelevant anecdote here:

I have read many times that when we put the autopilot on something (like driving) it's some kind of light trance.

So, sure, I have had things like that happen a lot of times, and many files  ask  you to evoke the feeling of trance itself...So lets bring back some autopilot-like memories.

-------
When I was a kid ,we used to visit my uncle's house.
He had a computer and  I was excited every day, because when we were there he would let me play all his cool games. There was one about slaughtering hordes of aliens with lots of weapons and crap.Really easy and  repetitive, although very satisfying.I was hooked for hours.

One day I left the door open and caught some words of a conversation,I found it interesting and started listening carefully to make sense of it.

I didn't look away from the screen, but I was not really paying attention. When the conversation ended, i got back to the game and, wtf. I had gone through a whole level and used some new weapons and armour and stuff, and of course I didn't remember doing any of that.In fact I got an amazing score on that level.

-------

However in that one and many other similar cases ,"autopilot" was the result of  focusing on something else, and that's not the case with most of the files, since they explicitly ask you to focus on the author's voice. O_o.

Whatever.

I'm not discouraged at all.But I'm finding it hard to find listening a slice of time, one that allows me to focus on the files instead of constantly checking the clock.Damn.

Well, in the meantime I'll go back to that bad habit of listening before bed.
I usually read for about one hour before sleeping so I'll just trade that for listening and hope I don't fall asleep.

Still trying to get trance. Not any closer though.

i can't rememeber every 34668900 repetitive game of nazi zombies that i've played , doesn't prove the causality of this "auto pilot" or "trance" bullshit.....

Often when I'm writing (and I write for a living), I have music or a movie or :) a hypnofile playing. I find it helps to distract the surface chatter in my mind and let my attention get down to something useful. Sometimes not. Depends on the state of mind, I suppose.
