Sup, bros. Ok, so, sometimes you sign up for a raffle or a drawing or some shit, because it's for a good cause or you'd really, really like the prize, even though you know you're going to say "Man, I never win nothin'!" when your name isn't drawn. That's ok, you and most everybody else, dude, including my own handsome self. Of COURSE we never win anything; statistically speaking, most of us
have to be the person who loses in those things. I've won in such a drawing ONCE. What'd I win? A storage tub. That's it. The lowliest prize on the table, after the novelty coffee mug.
And it IS okay, because we all commiserate with each other and feel good, or celebrate the person who one, because they
finally got something! The only person anybody gets mad at is the one who ALWAYS wins. Don't you just
hate that sumbitch? We all know at least one.
As it happens, the 'one' I know is my beloved Granny, so I don't hate her at all; especially since
- She shares what she wins with me, especially cash.
- What she wins is usually not all that large. A cooler, for instance.
And then there's what she won most recently. Paying for a five dollar($5) raffle ticket, she won four, count 'em, FOUR $50(that's a total worth of $200 for those jocks who gave up math for that nice V shape) seats at Busch Stadium for the Cardinals/Pirates game this Thursday. They're right behind the dugout in left field.
Since there's bound to be at least one other baseball fan reading this, and maybe even a Cardinals(or Philadelphia, I guess) fan reading this, I think I'll let Rocky, my inner Jock, handle this.
Rocky:Suck it, bitches.
But seriously folks, I'm pumped. Baseball was, before I started on this little journey, the ONLY sport that I was at all interested in, and I love watching it live and in-person. Plus, I've got family history of rooting for the Cards, and they were my first(and, come to that, only, because tickets cost cash) MLB team to see play live. And the jock's pleased, obviously, which makes this a win-win situation all around.
All of which means there will be NO journal entry this upcoming Thursday, the Jock is pleased, the Geek is satisfied, and I'm all out for tonight. Later, bros!
