So this isn't directly about hypnotism but my current adventures in the land of stalker-dom (I am being stalked, not doing the stalking) have me thinking about the psychological roots of obsession or fixation. So my question is what trips your fixation on objects, activities, or people? Or for the 'tists, what techniques do you use to instill a fixation in your subjects?

For me personally I tend to fixate on unsolved puzzles, or incomplete activities. I need that sense of completion and if I don't have it I tend to pursue completion to the exclusion of all other concerns. With my subjects when instilling a particular fixation, whether it be with the pleasure I give in bed :P or a new fetish/desire, I tend to work with a series of logical steps. Even if the reasoning is fallacious as long as the individual steps seem logical the subjects mind seems to accept it. Given enough sessions or intense enough focus this has brought profound changes in attitude. Note this is with the subjects consent, foreknowledge and desire. For example, one subject wanted to become a cam model but was held back by her upbringing and asked me to help. When we started she could barely manage to take her shirt off for me in a private chat room, but now she works full time as a cam model for hustler live and couldn't imagine having any other attitude toward paid cam-sex work.

So what does it for you, creating or experiencing fixation?
