Hello world, I wish to start with a bit of a rant. I would like an mp3 player please. No, not an ipod, an mp3 player. A basic, small, cheap, battery powered mp3 player. I do not want terabytes of space, 1 Gig is enough and 4 Gigs would be ample. I don't need super-cool graphics, menu systems or search abilities, I'll be unconscious most of the time that I'm using it. I don't want a rechargeable internal battery because they're always the first thing to go. It must have been 3 or 4 years ago that I got my last one, it was about 10 quid and it wasn't the cheapest. Today the cheapest I can find is about 15 quid. Is this called progress?

That's right, my trance mp3 player has finally packed up in the middle of one of my psychological safaris. My backup player has only 120Mb capacity and I'm not even sure that it still works.
