Sometimes, when a hypnotist is communicating, they do it in a special way...  a way speaks to both the conscious and the subconscious minds.  Maybe you're wondering whether I'm doing it now.  That's a fun thing to be curious about, isn't it?

Some subjects like an induction that's leisurely and winds its way through a forest...  it follows a stream downhill...  flowing down and gradually down to a lake - still and smooth.  With the calm of the water reflecting white clouds floating in a wonderfully blue sky, it's impossible to tell where the lake ends and the sky begins.

Other subjects appreciate an induction that's a little jumbled and tangled.  It makes perfect sense that two plus two is four.  But things get interesting when too also means also, especially if you have to read it out loud to understand.

Lastly, there are subjects whose minds need only to be told:  SLEEP.

In my previous journal entry, I shared a story that demonstrates a method of hypnosis that uses no induction.  Instead, it speaks to both the conscious and the subconscious.  In this new journal entry, I'm doing it again (below).  And I'm doing it because it's the method I used recently when I posted a response in the forum General Hypnosis; replying to an inquiry:  Files for Non-Visualizers.

Here's the story:

The parents of a young man - about 15 years old - were desperate.  The boy's rebellion was absolutely incorrigable.  Whenever his parents told him "No", that's exactly what he would do.  He was failing because he skipped school.  He would lie about anything.  The final straw was when they caught him swiping the car keys.  They were genuinely desperate and at the end of their wits.

The parents tried making an appointment with a hypnotherapist, begging to be squeezed in.  The hypnotist listened, and even though his schedule required a full day of giving lectures, he agreed to squeeze the boy in.  

When he met with the boy, he asked the parents to leave the room.  And with the young man sitting there in the office, the hypnotist continued working on some paperwork - ignoring the him.  Eventually, the hypnotist paused.  He looked directly into the boy's eyes.  He paused.  And then he said: "I don't know how you're going to change".  And then he went right back doing paperwork, leaving the boy confused whether it was okay to leave.

Two weeks later, the parents called the hypnotist expressing amazement at the change in their son.  Not perfect mind, you.  But positive change, nonetheless.

No induction was needed.  The hypnotist had chosen to speak simultaneouly to the boy's conscious and subconscious.  

It's great, isn't it...  that this same statement works for the kink hypnosis we love!!
