Chapter 1

Something that changed my life happened when i was 8. It was a girl, her name was Abbey, remember she was 9 at that time. Another of the neighbour's children, though a new one at that time. Remember they had just moved in. She lived with her mother, no one knew about her father. She was a serious child for that age, but she still went out and played with the kids.

But there was something strange about her, whenever she commanded something, everybody obeyed, like it was a natural thing to do. Can't describe it with words. For example, if she was losing in a game, she would command us all to go to our houses, and dont come out again to play for two days. One time Ollie, a 10 years old kid who was the little trickster of the neighbour, made her fall while running. The first thing she did while she turned back was to stare at him and say "pee yourself". Ollie instantly wet his pants, and runned away crying. Anyway, people didnt thought what she did was something strange or different. Over the years she became more quiet and serious.

One time we had group school homework. Becka, a girl from the group was ill, or at least that what she said as a excuse for not coming, so we both had to do homework without her. I remember i went to her house, as soon as i entered her mother told us she had a meeting she didnt remember, and told us she would come back later.

As we were doing the homework, Abbey said she was tired and that didnt want to do it more. Didnt know how to say it, but told her i would need her help since it was a lot of homework, and we were already one less in the group to do it.

She just gave me a grin look and said "since its a lot of homework, you will work twice as hard to do it now". I just could only nod and start writing and reading faster than before.

Over an hour passed, i finished the homework, and told her so. Also told her that she was a coward since all she did was command people to do things when she couldnt face things. Shouldn't have said that.

She watched me as if i was really saying that, and asked "so you think im a chicken for doing this". I barely could said "well, yes, dont know, you quit always things, i think so, at least i dont do that". She laughed and told me "you know what, now you will do it too, you will be a chicken, in fact, you are now a chicken, and you will be a chicken till you go to sleep tonight, so now what you will do is go to your house clucking, flaping your wings and being the stupid chicken that you are now, do you understand?". "Cuaak, cuaakk".

And that was it, woke up the day after that, my family grounding me, friends laughing for months of that, and her, always with that look, implying she could do anything she wanted with me.

And she did some time later...
