Hippo transformation
Ever since you were a kid, you'd heard jokes about running away and joining the circus. Now, as an adult, you weren't running away, per say, but just applying for a job.
A help wanted poster for an unspecified position at "The Flying Imagination Traveling Circus" had caught your eye a day earlier, and you were set to check out the opportunity before the circus left that night.
Following the directions on the flyer, you arrive at a large, striped, tent, glowing from the interior lighting. Behind the tent, you spot a very colorful train with pictures of lions, clowns, and whatever else one might expect to find at a circus.
Several smaller tents are set up beside the larger one, protected by a colorful fence that might stop any wandering patrons. You guess these must be the tents housing the performers for the week the circus is in town.
In front of the large tent, sits a small concessions stand, although it's too early for them to be selling any popcorn yet. A lone woman sits at the counter of the stand, dressed in what looks like a sparkly purple version of a flight attendant's uniform. She's reading what you'd guess was some sort of harlequin romance novel while she waits for the time to start making and putting out all the fattening and delicious treats the a circus has to offer.
You approach her, holding the help wanted poster, and, after clearing your throat, she realizes someone is seeking her attention. Once she puts down the novel, you can see the tent-shaped nametag on her blouse reads "Cindy" in fancy golden lettering.
"Oh," she starts. "I'm sorry, Sweetie, I'm afraid we aren't open for another hour or so."
You stop her by holding up the flier and say:
"I'm here for the open position here, but the instructions didn't say who I was supposed to talk to once I got here."
Her face lights up once she sees the flier, and she directs you to the large tent behind her to see the Ringmaster. You thank her for her help, and head inside the main tent.
Inside, you see hundreds of folding chairs set up for the show. They're all pointed to a massive wooden stage framed by velvet purple curtains. You decide this is probably the best place to find a Ringmaster, so you follow the aisle between the rows upon rows of metal chairs up to the stage. Climbing up, you hear someone speaking backstage to the right.
Following the voice, you find several of the preformers practicing their acts, knife-jugglers juggling knives, acrobats doing stretches, clowns preparing pies, and in the middle of it all is the Ringmaster. Well, you assume it's the Ringmaster from his outfit. A bright red sparkly tailcoat, adorned with golden buttons, and a matching top hat that one would imagine a Ringmaster to wear make it a fairly safe assumption.
You get his attention, and show him the flier.
"Ah, I knew someone would come sooner or later. People just can't resist the magical draw of the circus!" He takes your hand in his and leads you out the backdoor of the tent.
He leads you to his office on the train you saw when you arrived, and sits you down in front of an old oak desk. Sitting opposite from you, he rummages in his desk drawers for the proper paperwork, and, in less than five minutes, gets all the legallities out of the way. All that sits in front of you now is a contract and a pen.
"Are you ready to start a fulfilling and transformative career at The Flying Imagination Traveling Circus?" The Ringmaster asks.
You nod and sign your name on the dotted line.
The Ringmaster takes your contract and safely files it away in his desk. A bright smile plastered across his face, he directs you to the dressing room where someone will help you get ready for tonight's show.
You follow his directions and find the dressing room without a hitch. Inside, you find a tall woman waiting for you. She smiles, and asks if your the new help. You nod, and she tosses you a bright pink tutu and tells you to change.
"Into just this...?" You ask sheepishly.
"Yeah, I'll wait outside," she smirks, leaving. "Trust me, you'll be fine."
You don't particularly trust her, but you aren't going to disobey orders on your first day on the job. You remove your clothing, pausing for a moment before taking off your undergarments, and slip on the tutu.
You turn and admire yourself in a large mirror you somehow hadn't noticed before. For be an adult wear only an article of clothing typically only meant for children and ballerinas, you look pretty damn good.
That's when you notice something is off. That's right, it must be one of those funhouse mirrors, because you're looking much larger than you remember yourself being. But that's weird, since nothing else in the mirror appears to be warping but you.
Looking down, you see changes in your body emenating from the tutu, and slowly spreading across your body. The skin where the tutu touches is turning a grey color, and is becoming much stronger and thicker. As your skin becomes thicker, any hair that was once there proceeds to fall out.
It's not just the color of your body that's changing, however, but the size as well.
You begin rapidly gaining weight as you stomach expands with fat. The sturdy elastic of the tutu stretches around your expanding body. In a matter of moments, your view of your lower body is blocked by your globular waist.
Looking back up at the mirror, you see how the changes are affecting your lower body. You feel your ass expanding in a race to keep up with your stomach. The greyness spreads down past your ass, over your crotch, and down your legs. As the greyness passes, everything below it expands, your legs become akin to tree trunks, gaining the much needed musculature to support your massive stomach. Reaching your feet, the changes cause them to expand and flatten out. Your toes become lage, grey nubs to help support your weight.
While these changes are happening to your lower body, your upper body is experiencing similar things. The greyness spreads up to you shoulders, and down your arms as you begin to lose your balance. As you fall forward, your arms expand in just enough time for you to catch yourself on your new front feet. From what you can see they look just like your back feet, large, grey, and sturdy.
Now on all fours, you feel your spine legthening, and changing to keep you in that position. Your stomach still growing ever larger, the changes are far from over.
The greyness spreads up to your neck now, and you begin to develop rings of fat over the muscles growing in. Past your neck, the changes begin to affect your head. Your head starts growing much larger, as your mouth and nose push out into a gaint grey muzzle. Your nostrils flare out and move to the top of your new muzzle, as you feel your once-sharp teeth become much larger and longer. From what you can see in the mirror, they look like tusks, but much less sharp than those of elephants.
The changes now reach your eyes, and they shift to the sides of your head before bulging outward. It takes you a moment to get used to your new vision, but once you do, you see that two small, cute ears have replaced your old ones, and have shifted to the top of your grey head.
The changes appear to be over and you turn to look yourself over in the large mirror, wiggling your new tail that you hadn't noticed before. You're now just a large hippo, standing alone in a dressing room.
From outside you hear the woman call to you, and when you try to reply, no words come out, instead all you hear is a lengthy groan. The woman re-enters the room and looks you over, smiling up at you.
"You look great! Ready to start practicing for tonight's show?"
You look around, not sure how to respond.
"Don't worry, we'll change you back after you're done tonight, it's much cheaper to transport our animals that way!" she gives you a wink and leads you off to start practicing. As you follow her out I. Your new body, you start to think this will be the start of a great job.
